993,606. Refrigerating and air conditioning vehicles. M. BEHR, [trading as SUDDEUTSCHE KUHLERFABRIK JULIUS FR. BEHR]. Dec. 13, 1963 [Jan. 22, 1963], No. 49402/63. Headings F4H and F4V. [Also in Division B7] A vehicle air conditioning system comprises an evaporator 5 located at the intake of an air distribution duct 3 which includes a blower and motor 14, a condenser 9 cooled by a blower 10, and a compressor 7 connected to the drive of the vehicle, the refrigerant pipes to and from the compressor extending along the floor of the vehicle. The blower and motor 14 are formed as a structural unit with a heater 13 connected to the coolant circuit of the vehicle engine. A thermostat in the interior of the vehicle controls the switching on and off of the compressor and the blowers 10 and 14. The blower 14 may also be switched on and off manually. Two systems as described above may be provided, one on each side of the vehicle, Fig. 2 (not shown).
