992,908. Knitting-machines. RUNDUND FLACHSTRICKMASCHINEN-BAU KARL-MARXSTADT VEB. March 19, 1964, No. 11729/64. Heading D1C. The needle dial of a circular machine has radial grooves 4 of constant width throughout their length. The needle tricks 8 are formed by inserting bars 3 into the grooves 4 and between which bars the needles slide. The sides of the needle tricks are, however, parallel, and to achieve this the lower part 5 of each bar is of constant width, so as to be accommodated within the corresponding groove 4, whilst the upper part 6, which projects out of the groove, is tapered in width towards the centre of the dial. The arrangement is such that the mutually facing lateral faces 7 of any two bars constituting a needle trick are parallel to one another and the base of each needle trick is partly formed by the upper surfaces 10 of the lower parts 5 of two adjacent bars 3.
