990,135. Radio signalling. H. P. HUTCHINSON, and P. R. ARENDT. May 8, 1961 [May 13, 1960], No. 36038/64. Divided out of 990,134. Heading H4L. In a method for communicating between two widely spaced stations a plurality of different frequency carrier waves of similar amplitudes, each modulated with the required intelligence are transmitted from one station towards a body in space, e.g. the moon. The signal carrier frequency waves reflected therefrom are received at the other station at strengths depending upon the optimum trnsmission frequency for the conditions apertaining. The waves are received in a multi-channel receiver which responds to the strongest wave present and supplies a corresponding demodulated signal.
