Abstract
989,865. Rolling. SCHLOEMANN A.G. Feb. 6, 1963 [Feb. 10, 1962], No. 4788/63. Heading B3M. [Also in Division B8] A laterally sloping feed roller run out trough for transferring strands 1 of rolled stock to a cooling bed comprises three side-by-side divisions 4, 5 and 6, division 4 being stationary while divisions 5 and 6, nearer to the cooling bed, comprise individually operable lifting floorplates which are operated in a sequence to raise the strands to the stationary and movable bars 8 and 7 of the cooling bed, a hinged cover flap 11 being provided on a guide wall 9 and extending across divisions 4 and 5. Strands 1 which arrive on rollers 3 may be braked by the divisions if these are above the level of the rollers. For handling heavy stock, floorplate 6 only may be used while for light stock, floorplate 5 need only be used. Fig. 8 shows a strand 1 on the cooling bed and two further strands 1<SP>1</SP> and I<SP>11</SP> being transferred to the bed.
