Abstract

[Also in Division F2] A pipe coupling device comprises a resilient coupling strip 12 secured by one face thereof to a frame which when laid flat is rectangular, end regions of the longer sides 13 of the frame being provided with co-operating parts of a lever locking means, the arrangement being such that the strip can be tightened round a pipe by engagement and operation of the locking means. The frame consists of four members, the two longitudinal sides 13 and two transverse members 14 and the quick action lever locking means each consists of a lever 21 pivoted at one end to a bracket 19 attached to one end of the members 13, the lever 21 having a hook member 22 pivoted to it intermediate its ends, the hook lever being adapted to engage either of two bars 23 carried by a bracket 20 which is secured to the other end of the member 13. The surface of the strip 12 which faces the pipes is provided with a longitudinal channel of triangular cross-section.
