Abstract
987,685. Locking bolts. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 17, 1963 [July 23, 1962], No. 28278/62. Heading F2H. [Also in Division D1] A bolt 8 is prevented from unscrewing by resilient or resiliently mounted elements engaging indentations. The resilient elements may comprise legs 13, Fig. 3, which extend parallel to the bolt axis and are moulded integrally with the bolt head 10 from polypropylene and engage in grooves in a recess 16. Alternatively Fig. 6 (not shown) the legs may comprise metal inserts, and in a third embodiment, Fig. 8 (in which the bolt head 10 is shown separated from the knurled shank end 12 to which it is normally secured), the resilient elements are spring arms extending from a phosphor bronze washer 32 and having V-shaped portions 34 which engage radial grooves 31. The washer 32 has lugs, Fig. 9 (not shown), securing it to the bolt head by engaging in recesses in the head face. Specification 987,684 is referred to.
