Abstract

A grease contains a lubricating oil and a combination of lithium soaps of C12- 22 saturated fatty acids and of vicinal epoxydized fatty acids. The soaps can be obtained from the acids, their esters, or glycerides. Suitable acids given include hydroxy acids. The oil may be synthetic, e.g. esters, or ethers, or they may be mineral, vegetable or animal. Metal naphthenates are optional additives. Specification 985,217 is referred to.
