Abstract

987,554. Drying fibrous materials. H. FLEISSNER, H. FLEISSNER, and G. FLEISSNER, [trading as FIRMA ESTABLISHMENT FOR AUTOMATION]. Feb. 12, 1964 [Feb. 12, 1963], No. 5871/64. Heading F4G. Apparatus for drying loose fibrous materials, e.g. wool, comprises a chamber housing a sieve drum 3 at the entry to which the material 1 is fed by a belt 2 and a sieve drum assembly 6 at the exit end which discharges the dried material to a shoot 7, between which drums two superposed endless perforated belts 4, 5 are mounted through which dry air from nozzles 10 below the lower belt 5 is passed. The belts are driven at the same or different speeds, and may be in stages, or a single belt may be provided and in other modifications the belts may be inclined to the horizontal or be situated above or beneath one or all the sieve drums.
