987,041. Valves. BALMFORTH ENGINEERING Ltd. June 13, 1963 [June 21, 1962], No. 23997/62. Heading F2V. A float-actuated valve controlling the flow of liquid into a tank 6, comprises a body 1 having a rotatable valve 13 provided with a port 14 which co-operates with a passageway 2. A float arm 16 is connected to the valve 13 and carries a float 17 which may be of varnished cork. The valve member has a port 21 to provide lubrication and equalize pressures. The body 1 is screw threaded into the tank and is provided with a thread 8 to receive a hose. The body also provides a stop for the float arm. A device may be provided which operates a signal with a rise in pressure after the valve has closed. A cap may be provided for the body to prevent ingress of dirt.
