985,800. Pneumatic conveyers. E. CONSTANTIN. Dec. 18, 1962 [Jan. 22, 1962], No. 47801/62. Heading B8A. A hopper 1, Fig. 1, having a sloping porous floor 9 for fluidizing granular material has a discharge chamber 8 into which the material flows through a variable aperture control valve 10 and to which a separate stream of gas is supplied through nozzles 17 at a higher pressure than that below the porous floor and acting to direct the material towards the delivery pipe 19. The chamber 8 may have its internal pressure equalized with that of the hopper 1 through an interconnecting duct 7. The nozzles 17, 17 2 , Fig. 2, have their axes converging towards the open end of the delivery pipe 19. The emptying and filling cycle may be controlled by level inductors 5 associated with the filling valve 3, fluidizing valve 14 and discharge valve 10.
