985,159. Lift trucks. ALLIS-CHALMERS MANUFACTURING CO. Sept. 20, 1963, No. 37070/63. Drawings to Specification. Heading B8H. A control system for a rotating, side-shifting clamp attachment, mounted on the lifting carriage of a lift truck and comprising a pair of clamp arms actuated by a pair of doubleacting hydraulic rams and mounted on a frame which is rotatable by a double-acting hydraulic motor, includes solenoid valves connected in an electric control circuit including three pushbutton switches -by means of which appropriate valves are actuated to set up an hydraulic circuit for clamping, side-shifting or rotating the clamp arms. Having selected one of the hydraulic circuits by momentarily pressing the corresponding push-button, after which the circuit is maintained activated by a holding circuit, the operator then controls the direction of movement of the clamp arms by a hand lever on a control valve mounted on the truck body and connected to an hydraulic pump and reservoir and, by a pair of hoses, to the hydraulic motors on the lifting carriage. Signal lights are included in each of the holding circuits to indiacte which circuit is activated.
