Abstract

984,788. Laminates and laminating. CROWN ZELLERBACH CORPORATION. Feb. 7, 1964, No. 5210/64. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions D1 and D2] A corrugated paperboard is composed of a sharp crested, straight sided corrugated web 34 and a web 80 attached at the crests by glue 74 some of which, as at 74a, has passed through perforations on to the inside of said crests. In manufacture, the previously corrugated web (Divisions D1 and D2) is transferred to toothed roll 58, the teeth 62 of which are of the same cross-sectional configuration and size as the desired corrugations. Whilst on roll 58 the crests 24 are given a coating of glue by glue roller 72 and the crests are then brought into contact with the web 80 of liner material at point 86 to bond the two together under pressure and heat to form single faced corrugated paperboard. A further web 128 may be applied to the other side of the corrugated web if desired.
