Abstract

Flameproof electrical equipment comprises a casing containing electrical apparatus having at least one movable part, e.g. a switch, and an inert, solid, elastically deformable, filler material which occupies all or some of the empty space within the case. Specified fillers include foamed polyurethane, epoxy and silicone resins which may be in granular or shredded form.
