[Also in Division B4] A broadknife for applying mastic comprises two resilient shims D each between the blade C and a prong of the fork B of the handle A in which the blade is mounted, the shims extending beyond the fork towards the working edge 15 of the blade. The shims are wider than the fork to spread the flexing stress of the blade in use. The edges 23 of a shim diverge from a straight end 26 which is shorter than the end of a prong. The handle A is hollow.
