Abstract
<PICT:0981863/C1/1> A delay composition for use in a blasting assembly (see Division F3) may be a mixture of lead dioxide and silicon in the ratio 55: 45 parts by weight or a mixture of red lead and silicon in the ratio 70:30 parts by weight. This composition is compressed into a tube 7 and is initiated by a starter charge which is housed in a cylinder 8 and may be a mixture of silicon, selenium, red lead, lead chromate and barium chromate in the following proportions by weight: 9: 1: 40:28:22.
