Abstract

979,806. Wheel tyres. FABRIQUES NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE S.A. March 9, 1962 [March 10, 1961], No. 9067/62. Heading B7C. A pneumatic tyre for light cross-country motor vehicles which has an outer easing with a wide convex tread whose profile has deep closely-spaced transverse ridges 7, 8, 9 and 10, 11, 12 with sloping side faces 16, 17 and has circumferential ribs 1, 2 at its outer edges. The central part of the tread has deep circumferential grooves 13, 14, 15 flanked by parallel grooves of depth progressively decreasing towards the outer beadings and intersecting the transverse ridges. The height " f " of the tread camber is about # to <SP>1</SP>/ 10 of the width L of the tread. Wide circumferential channels 3, 4 are provided adjacent the moulded tread. The tyre may be used at pressures as low as 400 gm. per sq. cm. to support an overall weight of 500 kgm.
