979,793. Disc brakes. A. AMADORI, and L. SITA, [trading as RUOTE AMADORI COLLETTIVA DI AMADORI & CO.]. Feb. 23, 1961 [July 13, 1960], No. 6611/61. Heading F2E. In a spot-type disc brake, the two opposed cylinders 4 and the calliper 2 are formed as a single light-metal casing with internal fluid ducts 16. The friction pads 7 are attached to backing plates 107 carried in guides 6 in the calliper, which guides allow radial replacement of the pads when a retaining plate 11 has been removed. The pistons 5 have radial clearance with the cylinder bores and sealing is effected by an elastic rubber gasket 14 partially housed in a groove in either the cylinder or the piston, the gasket being deformed on brake application and returning the piston on brake release. The lug for securing the calliper to the vehicle, the feed nipple and the bleed nipple are all located on the inward side of the calliper. Specifications 688,382 and 742,338 are referred to.
