Abstract

978,527. Structural joints. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. March 19, 1963 [March 19, 1962], No. 10437/62. Heading E1K. [Also in Divisions H1 and H2] An electric switchboard &c. has a framework composed of angle section main girders 2, 3 and channel section subsidiary girders 6, the angle girders being connected to the channel girders by planar T-shaped brackets 7 (Fig. 4) whose cross limb 8 is bolted to the angle girder and whose down limb 9 is welded to the base of the channel girder. Channel girders are interconnected by further brackets 10 (Fig. 5) whose tongue 14 is similarly welded to the base of a channel girder. The framework is assembled using bolts 5 having tapped heads, the switch board panels (Fig. 1 not shown) being attached to them by screws.
