Abstract

977,463. Agricultural implements. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. March 21, 1961 [April 8, 1960], No. 10282/61. Heading A1B. A cultivator or harrow is provided with tines wherein at least some of the tines each have a ground-working portion 39 and a connecting portion 43 the latter being secured to a harrow frame 5 and including at least one torsionally deformable portion 44, the arrangement being such that the ground-working portion 39 of each such tine is capable of resilient deflection about the axis 40A of the corresponding torsionally deformable portion 44. A member 40 secures the tine to the frame 5 and comprises two segments held together by a nut 49A. Various alternative shapes of tine are described and the torsionally deformable portions may be disposed horizontally. The connecting portion may include two torsionally deformable portions extending parallel to one another. Specifications 975,817 and 977,462 are referred to.
