Abstract

975,183. Filing papers. O. A. BECKER. Dec. 9, 1960 [Dec. 10, 1959; June 29, 1960], No. 42546/60. Heading B6E. A loose-leaf binder having flexible filing prongs and a separate compressor bar is combined with loose sheets having filing holes and marginal slots extending from the holes to the binding edge. The filing prongs comprise flexible tubes or strips of plastics material having enlargements on their free ends serving as stops for the compressor bar. One cover of the binder is provided with a pocket 27 on its inner face to receive the compressor bar 5 when it is required to insert or remove loose sheets. In a modification the sheets are filed in groups, each group 10 being secured to a subsidiary binder 30. Each binder 30 has marginal slots 11 by means of which it is filed in the main binder provided with two flexible filing prongs in the usual way. Various filing holes and marginal slots are illustrated in Figs. 1-6 and 15-17 (not shown), including circular- and triangular-shaped holes, and straight slots normal or inclined to the binding edge of the sheets, or dog-leg shaped slots.
