Window panels 7 slide on spaced self-lubricating (e.g. polytetrafluoroethylene) pads 14 set in channels bisected by brass or plastics strips 9. Spaced wooden members 11 adjacent the pads 14 support the cill member 5 above a wood, metal or concrete frame member 4, forming drain channels 12 therebetween, and holes 13 are formed in the strips 9 to drain the inner channels. Rubber stops 15, and felt lining 17 are also provided.
