An egg tray having recesses F and housings G, and moulded of low or high density polythene or of polypropylene, has at least one row of recesses or one row of housings interspaced by bridge-pieces M, N, the thickness of the part Q<SP>1</SP>-Q<SP>2</SP> (Fig. 6) being at least 0.25 inch and its mean width being at least 0.05 inch, the smallest cross-section at R being 0.1 inch and the mean cross-section of the legs M<SP>1</SP> being 0.03 inch. Inlets O, P are provided at two edges of the tray to facilitate handling and to identify the position of the tray.
