Abstract
972,571. Wire-feeding conduits. UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION. Sept. 5, 1962 [Sept. 29, 1961], No. 34077/62. Heading F2P. [Also in Divisions B3 and B5] A conduit attached to a welding tool has a liner with bearing guides of low friction material shaped to engage the surface of a welding wire along the course of travel of the wire, the guides being separated by spaces for chips and dirt to fall clear of the wire. As shown, the liner comprises annular rings 10 and spacer rings 12. Alternatively, the liner is formed by a circumferentially or helically corrugated tube or a helical wire coated with a plastic.
