Abstract

971,926. Shuttleless looms. R. DEWAS. Aug. 22,1962 [Sept. 7, 1961], No. 32236/62. Heading D1E. In a shuttleless loom in which a selected weft 11 is moved rearwardly so that a vertically-reciprocating weft presenter 15 can depress it into the path of the weft inserter 16, the weft engages under a hook 18 on the front face of the reed 2 as the presenter 15 rises again; the weft is thereby compelled to run against the reed even when the slay 1 reaches its rearmost position. As the shed closes, the upper warp sheet pushes the weft out of the hook to enable the reed 2 to beat it up. Specification 696,955 is referred to.
