Abstract

971,786. Latches. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Jan. 22, 1963 [March 19, 1962], No. 10484/62. Heading E2A. A latch device for doors or the like including a keeper 1 for a latch stud 12, comprises opposed resilient arms 3, 4 for receiving and resiliently engaging the latch stud 12 therebetween, the keeper being mounted in a cage so as to be relatively movable therein and the cage having means for detachable snapping engagement in an aperture in a support 13. As shown, in which the keeper and the cage are made of sheet metal bent to U-shape, the cage is formed with resilient tongues 10 for snapping engagement with the support and the keeper is assembled within the cage by sliding the keeper between arms 6, 7 of the cage until resilient tongues 11 on the keeper snap over a base portion 8 of the cage.
