[Also in Division B8] A butt joint in a container made of laminated wood comprises strips of material extending from and integral with a layer or layers of material surfacing one or both sides of one of the sheets of laminated wood, each strip extending between the abutting faces of the joined sheets and being fixed, as by adhesive, to the other side of the other sheet. As shown, both laminated wood sheets 1, 2 have surface layers 1<SP>1</SP>, 1<SP>11</SP>, 2<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>11</SP>, strips of which extend beyond the edges of the sheets and are each stuck to the opposite face of the adjacent sheet.
