969,688. Spinnerets. SNIA VISCOSA SOC. NAZIONALE INDUSTRIA APPLICAZIONI VISCOSA. June 20, 1962 [July 12, 1961], No. 23675/62. Heading B5B. A device for wet-spinning synthetic fibres comprises an annular spinneret; a spinneret feed duct having in the proximity of the spinneret a substantially annular shape, and connected with a source of spinning solution; a central duct circumscribed by the annular bundle of extruded filaments and through which coagulating liquid is supplied into the inside of the bundle of filaments; and means for securing both the filament and the two ducts in position. The spinneret face is preferably delimited by an annular flat surface defined within coaxial circles, and the spinneret feed duct is preferably concentric with the spinneret. In one embodiment (Figs. 1-4) an annular multi-hole spinneret 10 has face 12 defined between circles 13 and 14, and is of U-shaped crosssection. Spinning solution e.g. viscose, is fed through annular duct 16 connected via inlet 17 to duct 18 defined by sleeve 19 screwed into annular body 15. Coagulating liquid is fed to the inner filaments in the annular bundle by duct 21 defined by sleeve 20, the whole device being immersed in the coagulating liquid. For fastening the spinneret in place, a flange 22 formed on sleeve 20, engages with packing 23 fitted on the front side of flange 11 of the spinneret. The other end of the sleeve is held by threaded ring 24. A packing 27, a filter 28 and a packing 29 are interposed between flange 11 and a stop 26 on the annular body 15. The outer flange 11<SP>1</SP> of spinneret 10 is secured against shoulder stop 30 by flange 34 formed on ring 35 screwed on to annular body 15. Packings 31, 32 and 33 are interposed between spinneret 10, filter 28, and the clamping members. In operation, the central duct allows the inner filaments of the annular extruded bundle to be contacted with coagulating liquid as well as the outer filaments of the bundle.
