Abstract

A flexible, waterproof cover for an electrically heated pool (see Division H5) is composed of polyvinyl chloride, a first plasticizer constituted by a saturated polyester alkyd resin of molecular weight in the range 3,000 to 4,000, a second, low temperature, plasticizer constituted by tri-2-ethylhexyl phosphate, and a heat stabilizer, which may be lead phthalate. The cover may also include calcium carbonate filler, titanium dioxide as opacifier, and stearic acid to enhance extrudability, the components being milled together between heated rollers; proportions by weight are given.
