966,057. Insecticidal compositions. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. July 27, 1962 [July 28, 1961], No. 29057/62. Addition to 922,508. Heading A5E. [Also in Division C2] An insecticidal composition comprises a solid or liquid carrier or diluent and a dithiophosphoric acid ester of the general formula wherein R 1 and R 2 are the same or different unsubstituted or substituted alkyl or alkenyl radicals containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms and R, R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> are selected from hydrogen, chlorine, bromine and fluorine atoms or alkyl or alkoxy radicals containing up to 4 carbon atoms with the proviso that if R<SP>11</SP> is a chlorine atom then R and R<SP>1</SP> cannot both be hydrogen atoms and with the further proviso that at least one of R, R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> is other than a hydrogen atom (see Division C2). A suitable composition is obtained by mixing the phosphorus ester with the same amount of dimethyl formamide as auxiliary solvent, adding a benzyl hydroxy diphenyl polyglycol ether as emulsifier and then diluting with water.
