Abstract

965,983. Valve bags. POLYPRESS N.V. Sept. 7, 1962 [Sept. 8, 1961], No. 34311/62. Heading B8K. A valve tube 2 closed at one end 3 is attached exclusively by its ends to one of the edges 5 of a bag and communicates through an opening 7 in its side wall with the interior of the bag. The valve may be made from a tube of thermoplastic material folded along a line inclined to its axis and having an opening in its upper or lower side half-way along its length. The tube is welded at both ends to the bag edge 5, the end 4 being kept open by inserting a foil whilst welding. The bag may be of thermoplastic material or paper covered with thermoplastics. The tube 8 may have a hole (not shown) through which a vacuum may be generated during filling.
