Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the formula: <FORM:0963624/C1/1> where R1 and R2 are alkyl or aryl radicals linked to the phosphorus directly or via an oxygen atom, X and Y are O or S, and n is 1 or 2; and their production by reacting a b -(cyanoalkylmercapto)-ethyl halide with a compound R1R2P(X)YH or a salt thereof, or, when Y=O, by reacting a b -(cyanoalkylmercapto)-ethanol with a compound R1R2P(X) Hal. The compounds of the invention are pest control agents (see Division A5).ALSO:Pest control agents comprise a compound of the formula <FORM:0963624/A5-A6/1> where R1 and R2 are alkyl or aryl radicals linked to the phosphorus directly or via an oxygen atom, X and Y are O or S, and n is 1 or 2 (see Division C2) together with a solid or liquid carrier or diluent, such as talc, chalk, bentonite, clay, water (if desired with emulsifiers), alcohols, ketones and hydrocarbons. Known insecticides and/or fertilizers may also be present. Specified compositions contain dimethylformamide also.
