963,276. Mounting bearings. DEMAG A.G. July 18, 1961 [July 23, 1960], No. 26044/61. Heading F2A. A resilient mounting for the bearings of the supporting rollers of a rotary metallurgical furnace comprises a spring 4 mounted on a support 5 secured to the furnace frame 8. The spring is also attached to a lever 6 which carries bearing boxes 2a and 3a of frusto-conical roller 2 and locking roller 3 respectively. The rollers 2 and 3 respectively engage adjacent faces 1a, and 1b of the track ring 1 which encircles the furnace drum T and is coaxial therewith. This mounting arrangement maintains both rollers in contact with the track ring in spite of any irregularities in rotation of the furnace during operation.
