Abstract
962,764. Animal feeding devices. NEEDLE INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 10, 1962 [Aug. 10, 1961], No. 28858/61. Heading A1M. The lid 16 of an animal feeding bowl is raised at intervals under the control of a time delay device 17 located in a recess 13 in the bowl support 11. The device 17 comprises spring loaded jaws 18, 19 and a torsion spring 30 located in recesses 23, 24 in the jaw 18 and under a tag 25 on the jaw 19. A block 33 of soluble material e.g. sugar, sodium bicarbonate, is held between the jaws so as to be immersed in water fed into the recess 13 via channel 34. As the block 33 dissolves the jaw 19 moves into the chain-dotted position (Fig. 4) thereby releasing the spring 30 from the tag 25 so that the spring moves upwardly to strike the lid 16 lifting it about its hinge 15.
