Abstract

961,892. Wells. SOIL MECHANICS Ltd. May 24. 1963 [Feb. 27. 1962], No. 7612/62. Heading E1F. A well-point comprises an outer perforated rigid pipe 1 having a lining 3 of porous synthetic plastic material, the lower end of the lining being closed by a ball 4 during the suction operation. The pipe 1 is of polyvinyl chloride and carries a high density polythene tube 7 which is spaced from the lining and serves to direct water to the outlet during the jetting operation. The lining is of polythene, and the pipe 1 may be of metal.
