A closure 3 of resilient thermoplastic material for a receptacle 1 having a bead 2, comprises an inner sleeve 5 and an outer sleeve 6 with an end portion 7 which engages below the bead 2. To remove the closure the end portion 7 is first torn off and for this purpose has a tab 9 from which extends a helical groove 8. The closure may be reapplied after removing the portion 7. A spacer 11 may be provided.
