A pressure suit intended to be worn by a person in rarefied atmosphere comprises an inner bladder 10, Fig. 5, e.g. of rubber, which can be inflated with a gas, an outer garment, e.g. a jacket 14, Fig. 1, and trousers 20, 22, 24, Fig. 2, made of substantially undistensible, net-like, flexible, woven fabric comprising smooth interlooping filaments, e.g. of nylon, which can slide relative to each other, at the interloopings, in response to movements of the wearer. The outergarment restricts outward bulging of the inflated bladder. The bladder may be provided with a ring 12, which may be secured to the rigid connecting ring of a helmet (not shown). The outer garment may be provided with a collar 20 terminating in a ring 34, which may be secured to the ring 12 or to the said helmet-connecting ring. The legs of the outer garment may be provided with cuffs 30 and foot straps 32 over which boots may be fitted. The hand portions of the bladder may be covered by gloves.
