A body part 1 has aligned, opposed tubular connecting parts in which are disposed toroidal sealing rings 5 adapted to be forced into flanged recesses 6 in the body part, protective washers 4 for the sealing rings, and split retaining rings 3 of a resilient hard material. There are locking means such as flanges and bolts, or, as shown, nuts 2 having internal frusto-conical surfaces which react against the rings 3 to cause diametrical contraction of the rings to interlock the tubes T1, T2. The rings 4, when the joint is completed, abut the shoulders 4c of the body.
