956,703. Percussive drills. B.S.A. GUNS Ltd. Feb. 24, 1961 [Nov. 26, 1959], No. 40185/59. Heading B4C. In a drill comprising a stem 1, flutes 1b in the stem forming diametrically opposite arcuate sides extending from the root 1a to tip end 1c, a tip which is V-shaped from arcuate side-to-side and sloping outwardly to the flutes, and an insert 4, the insert projects beyond the sides and forwardly of the tip. The insert, which is brazed in the tip, is of hard material and has a V-shaped transverse crosssection.
