956,192. Variable throw cranks. PINTSCH BAMAG A.G. May 15, 1962 [May 18, 1961], No. 18750/62. Heading F2K. [Also in Division F4] An oxygen blowing lance 9, Fig. 1, is moved to and fro in a cage 13 which is swung about pivots 46 on the hood of a steel converter 1. The swinging motion is controlled by a crank disc 19 through a connecting rod 18. The disc 19 has a slot 20 of T-section, Fig. 3, so that the stroke may be adjusted. The connecting rod 18 is very short, Fig. 2, so that it can be arranged that the swing of the lance varies. The swing drive is mounted on a pivoted platform 22, so that the centre point of the lance swing can be adjusted by altering the length of link 23.
