A box is folded up from a single blank (Fig. 1) in such a way that folding triangles 6 . . . 13 project perpendicularly from the side walls 2, 3 and the peripheral areas 16 . . . 29 and coverforming areas 14, 15 project perpendicularly to the tops of the side walls 2, 3, 4, 5 (Fig. 4). A foil closure element A is applied at this point after the contents have been placed in the box and before the final closing. The folding triangles 6 . . . 13 are then bent in to lie against side walls 2, 3, Fig. 8, and the final closing effected as in Fig. 13. In modifications (not shown), slight variations are produced in creasing and scoring of the blank and the box is lined before erection to produce a vapourproof pack. Weakened lines may be provided in the lid to permit access to the contents.
