Abstract
Solid cyanuric chloride containing 0.3 to 3% by weight of a water-insoluble inorganic oxide or silicate, both ingredients being of particle size from 5 to 150 mm (millimicrons). Additives may be silicon dioxide prepared by reacting a volatile silicon compound with an oxidizing and/or hydrolysing or gas mixture in the gas phase at an elevated temperature, a silicic acid, aluminium silicate or calcium silicate obtained by precipitation from solutions of soluble silicates. In the trimerization of cyanogen chloride to cyanuric chloride in the gas phase in the presence of a catalyst, the oxide or silicate can be injected by an inert gas where the cyanuric chloride condenses.ALSO:Diaminochlorotriazines of general formula: <FORM:0953590/C2/1> where R1, R2, R3 and R4 are hydrogen atoms or alkyl groups containing up to 8 carbon atoms are prepared by reaction of cyanuric chloride containing 0.3 to 3% by weight of a water-insoluble inorganic oxide or silicate with ammonia or a primary or secondary amine in the presence of water or an organic liquid. The cyanuric chloride and the oxide or silicate are both of particle size from 5 to 150mm (millimicrons). Additives may be silicon dioxide, silicic acid, aluminium silicate or calcium silicate.
