Abstract

951,048. Valves. TEMPERATURE Ltd. Jan. 15, 1963, No. 1722/63. Heading F2V. A flap-type relief-valve for an enclosure consists of a frame 1, Fig. 3, bolted around an aperture in the enclosure, which frame has a seal 16, Fig. 2, for the flap member 14, the latter being connected to a clamp 3 on the frame through a pair of arms 12, Fig. 3, and a tube 5. A torsion spring 8 of natural or synthetic elastomeric material is disposed between each arm and the tube 5 whereby the member 14 is loaded to seat on the seal 16; the loading of the elastomeric springs is adjustable upon slackening the clamp 3 and rotating the tube 5 therein. A leaf spring 17, Fig. 2, bears on the member 14 to prevent its oscillation when the valve is open.
