Abstract

A cement suitable for fixing a dished glass or plastic guard to a television tube comprises:- .Methyl methacrylate monomer.33.8 parts .Methyl methacrylate polymer.20.0 parts .Dibutyl phthalate.45 parts .Benzoin;.0.7 parts .Triethylene glycol diethacrylate.0.5 parts The guard and tube are preferably first primed with vinyl trichlorsilane vapour or in solution with an organic solvent, and are separated and positioned by spacers which are withdrawn after the cement has been selectively polymerized in the centre of tube and guard faces. The cement will then flow into the spaces left and be polymerized.
