[Also in Divisions B7, E1 and F2] The drive to a rolling mill is augmented when dealing with extra heavy loads by an auxilary hydraulic drive (see Division F2) which has manually-controlled speed ratio selecting means and overriding means for reducing the speed ratio responsive to excessive torque exerted by the power source on the auxiliary drive if the torque is excessive because of manual selection of an excessive speed ratio.
