Abstract

948,891. Paper-making machines. DOMINION ENGINEERING WORKS Ltd. July 23, 1962.[Aug. 30,1961], No. 28310/62. Heading D2A. A drainage foil for location beneath a Fourdrinier, wire has leading and trailing surfaces connected by a flexible neck portion permitting adjustment of height of the trailing portion. The leading surface 20 is firmly fixed to a body member 23 and is adjustable for height by means of pins 51 that enter sloping grooves 50 in a laterally movable bar 51. Instead of the pin and groove adjustment arrangement, there may be provided a laterally adjustable bar within which are carried balls that side in arcuate recesses in the body member 23. The surfaces 20, 21 may be covered with non-metallic material for use with conventional metallic Fourdrinier "wires" but where non- metallic Fourdrinier screens are used the foil surfaces may be of stainless steel or similar material.
