Abstract

A waterproof, adhesive composition comprises a paraffinic material and a resinous copolymer of a lower alkylene and a polar comonomer. The composition may comprise: (a) 20-80% of paraffin wax 5-40% of an abietic acid material consisting of abietic acid, an isomer of abietic acid, aromatized abietic acid, an abietic acid ester or hydrogenated abietic acid or a mixture of two or more of such materials. 15-60% of a resin copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate with a content of 5-50% of polymerized vinyl acetate. or (b) 20-40% of paraffin wax. 20-40% of resin acids or derivatives thereof or a mixture of such materials. 30-50% of a resin copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate with a content of 25-40% of polymerized vinyl acetate.
