Abstract
948,547. Forage harvesters. JOSEPH BAUTZ G.m.b.H. Jan 8, 1962 [Jan. 11, 1961], No. 659/62. Heading A1F [Also in Division B5] In a harvester with a rotary pick-up device 2, a detector element 6 which bears against the ground, is pivotally mounted on the machine frame 1 behind the pivot 3 of the pick-up device 2 and so coupled to it that the position of the pick-up device relative to the ground is determined by the detector element. The device 2 is connected through the levers 9, 10, 8, 7 to the detector element 6 mounted on a pivot pin 5, so that any vertical movement by the element 6 produces a corresponding but smaller movement by the pick-up device 2. The detector element is retracted wholly or partly into the pick-up device when this is raised for transportation by road.
