A flexible, movement transmitting mechanism comprises a flexible tubular sheath 1, e.g. of a plastics material, a flexible rod-like member 4 freely movable along the longitudinal axis of the sheath, guiding tracks 2 and 3 secured within the sheath, and balls 5 between the member 4 and the tracks 2 and 3, the tracks having indented or attached stop members 2a and 3a thereon to limit the longitudinal movement of the balls, and thus act as cages for the latter.
