A magnetic filter for treating liquids comprises a casing 1 provided with inlet and outlet slots 3, 4, a magnetic body 6 and a sleeve 7 of perforated magnetized sheet metal arranged between the casing 1 and the magnetic body 6 open to the inlet slot 3 and covering the outlet slot 4 and being corrugated and closed at its lower end 9. The magnetic body 6 may consist of magnetic discs separated by pieces of non- magnetic material.
