Abstract

946,362. Standby lighting systems. CHAMBERLAIN & HOOKHAM Ltd. Oct. 10, 1962 [Oct. 23, 1961], No. 37853/61. Heading H2H. A standby lighting system comprises two lamps L1, L2 connected in a bridge circuit including resistors R1, R2 and a Zener diode Z, the terminals 1, 3 of the bridge being connected to a D.C. source. Thus should a lamp fail the other will become illuminated. As described the lamps are used for energizing a photosensitive device.
